SPB information
Edexcel releases a Summative Project Brief for each level of each unit every autumn. These SPBs are in fact to be considered as examinations. Students should work in a “controlled” environment.
The students are to undergo a skills training period of about 60 hours (possibly working on a specimen SPB). They are then expected to work on the SPB for a minimum of 30 hours.
Teachers of level 2 students should bear in mind that their role whilst the students work on the SPBs should be that of a "Line Manager". The teacher can and should give feedback to students. They should however leave the students to make their own decision about the most effective way of responding to the requirements in the SPBs.
