The scenario:
Students are to create some publications for a charity dance marathon – dance o’clock. They will create an invitation and danceometer, which will be emailed to students. The students sigh up for the event by completing the danceometer and sending it back. The result of the danceometer is used to create personalised play lists for the DJ and personalised sponsor form. They will also create an onscreen publication.
The tasks:
- Students will conduct some research about charities and sponsorship. They will choose 5 charities which the event will support.
- They will create a database to store music tracks. They will add validation rules. They will import data. They will create a data entry form and add new records. The music tracks in this database will be needed for some queries.
- They will create a danceometer (spreadsheet) which will collect information (such as preferred charity, fitness levels and music preference) from students. The danceometer will then present results to them. This danceometer will be sent with an invitation. The result of the danceometer will be needed for the sponsor form and play lists. They will also create an onscreen publication.
- Students are expected to create a project plan at the start of the project. This plan should be used to monitor progress throughout the project. They will produce an end-of-project review. All the required evidence should be submitted in an eportfolio.
