SPBs: what are they?
What does SPB stand for?
SPB stands for Summative Project Brief.
What exactly does this mean?
Summative Project Briefs are just like exam papers. They contain all the things you are required to do. The only difference is that SPBs are displayed on a website, not on paper. You need to read the SPB carefully and make sure you do exactly what is required. As the DiDA course is 100% coursework, you will probably do some of the work at home. You will also be able to discuss with other students and teachers whilst you work on the project.
How do I find the SPBs?
First of all, you need to ask your teacher the following questions:
What unit?
What year?
What level?
When you have these, you should go to the Edexcel’s SPB section and find your SPB.
Are there any helpful hints in the SPBs?
Yes, there are several helpful hints in there. The exam board (Edexcel) want you to do well, so they have put many hints there to help you. You just need to read and understand what you are required to do.
Can I print out the SPB?
Yes. But think about the trees you could be destroying if you do print the SPB. The whole idea of DiDA is that it is a paperless qualification.
